Lisa Martinez is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association and is a certified instructor for the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.

Martinez graduated from Sac State in 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in kinesiology, emphasizing in athletic training, before assuming the role of the College of the Redwoods assistant Athletic Trainer that same year. In 2014, Martinez joined Humboldt State intercollegiate athletics programs as an athletic trainer along with the North Coast Concussion Program in 2015 as a concussion specialist. In addition to her experience in managing concussions as an athletic trainer, Lisa has conducted a study of the long-term effect of contact sport participation on neurocognitive function among high school and collegiate contact sport athletes. She went on to finish her Master’s degree, also in kinesiology, at Humboldt State in 2017, while returning to College of the Redwoods as their assistant athletic trainer.
